Nevada women veterans, we want your stories! Tell us, in 1,200 words or less, a true story about your life as a woman veteran. We want true stories, well told, from women who served in all branches and during any era. Our judges will select the top three entries and award cash prizes! We’re taking entries through Dec. 15, 2021. Please submit your stories with a photo of yourself in uniform to veteranstorytellingproject@gmail.com
1st prize – $250
2nd prize – $125
3rd prize – $75
Here’s the catch, a.k.a. The Rules:
- To be eligible, participants must be women who served in the military, then made Nevada their home after retiring or separating from active/reserve/Guard duty.
- Submissions must be in English, 1,200 words or fewer.
- Submissions must be true, original stories written by the submitter.
- No previously published stories.
- Deadline to submit: Dec. 15, 2021.
- Participants grant us allowance to share short stories, along with your photo, online on the Veterans Storytelling Project blog. We will not publish your work without further approval.
